New Dashboard feature: "Stock management"

With the help of the new qnips feature "Stock Management" you can now adjust the quantities available for sale to the production planning. To do this, you can easily store a current stock for each meal in the qnips dashboard after activating the corresponding licence.  

For this feature, the menu management has been extended by the tab " Stock management". Using this tab, you can define a current portion number for each dish directly on the menu, as well as add an availability/best-before date (from - to). As soon as all portions have been sold or pre-ordered, the dish is automatically displayed as "sold out". In addition, you have the option of displaying the current stocks on the menu to your guests both in the app and in the catering portal. 

Regardless of the licensing for stock management, you now have the possibility to manually mark dishes and meals as "sold out" in the Menu Manager.

New language recognition for the news dispatch to dashboard users

Up to now, one language could be specified manually for the email dispatch and the push notifications. The language was selected from the languages in which the respective news content is maintained in the dashboard. Since the last deploy, the system now automatically detects the respective user language for all emails sent to dashboard users. 

This means that languages no longer have to be selected manually when sending news, but are automatically sent in the corresponding language that the user has set in the dashboard account. If a user language is not yet maintained for the corresponding content, the system sends a warning and automatically falls back to either the partnership language or English as a fallback.


Automatic language recognition for sending news to users of the apps and the catering portal is already in the implementation phase as the next step. And will be available soon!

NEW I Store filter now available in the Catering Portal

In the app you already have the possibility to set certain filters for locations, with which the user can quickly and easily find out which stores offer, for example, a café or to-go offers. 

This is now also possible in the Catering Portal! There you can now also filter stores based on attributes, so that your customers can quickly and easily find the right locations. 

To do this, simply use the tag "cp-store-filter" in the dashboard's tagging system and supplement it with the function filters/sub-tags "cp-store-filter-icon" and/or "store-filter-icon-text."

NEW I Peak times in the capacity display now also available in the Catering Portal

In the qnips app, you already have the possibility to display the current capacity utilization of your company restaurant with the help of a pie chart. In addition, you can show your customers the average peak times of the weekdays via a bar chart. 

In the Catering Portal, too, you already had the option of using the pie chart to display a percentage capacity utilization. In addition to this, you can now also display the peak times of the individual weekdays on the store detail pages!



This requires an existing People Counter license in the Catering Portal. If you have any questions or would like to activate a People Counter license, please contact your qnips contact person!

Info I Time zone selection & UTC time

The database of the qnips system basically works with UTC time. But thanks to our TimeZoneId, the system recognizes in which time zone a customer is located, because it gets this information from the backend. So the corresponding time zone of the customer can be easily delivered to the apps.

NEW I Maximum capacities for order time windows

The Corona-Lockdown Light once again presents restaurateurs in Germany with the challenge of switching to take-away and delivery service. 
The ordering system in the open-end mode of the qnips Dashboard was therefore updated with new settings. 

You can now determine in the category "Pre-order" of your menu 
specific order time windows in which pre-orders can be placed. You can also store a maximum number of orders in the system, thus ensuring that your kitchen can process all orders in the best possible way. 

At the same time, the delivery options have been globalized and also linked to the order time windows, so that you can, for example, limit the time window in which food can be delivered to the workplace.

NEW I Currencies in the qnips Dashboard

"The bill, please!" Pay in euros, dollars or rather pounds? You have the choice! 

As you may have seen, the last update in the qnips Dashboard introduced new currencies for both menus and pre-orders.


Up to now, the qnips apps have always implicitly assumed that the euro is the currency. With the new system you are now more flexible, so that your menus also can be displayed in pound or dollar with just one click.  

To do this, simply define the currency for the respective price tag under "Price labelling" and the corresponding currency symbol is delivered to the apps.

User profiles of the app now also accessible in the Catering Portal!

There is a new feature in the "Login & Registration" section of the qnips Dashboard. 

From now on your guests have the possibility to log in to the catering portal with their user account of the app. This means that orders from the Catering Portal are automatically loaded into the user's account. This allows your guests to view the orders thereafter in the app under "Order History".

New reference object "Menu"

Currently, it is already possible to link content items in the dashboard with reference objects such as a survey or a store location.

To do this, you can select the reference object in the content area of the dashboard in the respective content item under "Content".


From now on, it is also possible to define a menu as a reference object. This allows you to guide your users, for example, from a news page of a new food offer directly to the respective menu. 

To do this, you have access to a standard button with text that can be set in the dashboard ("Go to menu"; "Order now" etc.).

You also have the possibility of making optional settings for a content object with a reference object, that when you click on the content object, the reference object is opened directly without first opening the detail page of the content. Any activated detail page on the content object is skipped.

Video 2.0 - Media objects for detail pages

  • The ability to play a video will also be included on all detail pages in the apps in the future.
  • To do this, you can specify a different image/video for the detail page on the corresponding content object in the dashboard.
  • Videos in the preview and on the detail page will still have an adjustable autostart feature.
