New features for preparation options and order reporting

New updates for the order reporting. You now have the option to perform article-based evaluations. In addition, you can use a BETA version of the reporting journal, which shows you the history of all order transactions and cancellations. Various filter options provide a better overview of the data.


There is also a new feature in the master data management. You now have the possibility to define preparation options for different dishes. For this purpose, you can now find the Recipe tab where you can enter notes on preparation, cooking, serving and storage.

In the product labelling, you can now also set temporary tax rates that are only valid for a set period of time.

New features for minimum order values and price labeling

You now have the possibility to define a minimum order value and additional delivery costs for out-of-house orders, which are automatically added to the guest's order in the shopping basket. To do this, simply go to the "Preorder" tab in the menu administration and store the minimum order value and the respective delivery costs in the corresponding output option.


There has also been an update to the category prices: you can now also assign the prices that apply across products for an entire category to individual user groups. The variation that individual products of the category get an individual price is also possible. To create a category price, simply select "absolute value" in the corresponding price label and then add it in the menu management as price label V2.

Even more design options for the menu and content area

Attractive menu promotion with the product photography feature!
With the help of the photo feature, you can fill your menus with attractive photos directly via the app and now also via the Catering Portal. Product photos for daily dishes can be created and uploaded directly after the sample plate has been prepared in the kitchen.
To be able to use the product photography feature, you need the corresponding dashboard licence. This has to be activated in the dashboard and then you can define admins for the use of the feature in the menu management in the app settings.   

Even more design options! The Catering Portal now supports not only the delivery of content in the header and footer of the menu plan, but also the display of videos. For this purpose, you have the option of managing the delivery of various contents for the menu plan under the "Content" tab in the menu plan administration.

Product search in menu plans | Catering Portal

In recent weeks, there have been numerous updates to the features of the Catering Portal – Perhaps you have already spotted it? Thanks to the product search at the top of the menu, your guests will now find the desired dishes and drinks even faster. To activate the product search, simply tick the corresponding box in the general settings of the respective menu.

Customer management directly in the qnips dashboard

With the help of the customer management, the dashboard enables information from the app and/or catering portal users to be received and edited if necessary. First level support has never been so easy!
For example, search for the e-mail address of the registered user and get information such as registration date, double opt-in status, current credit balance and much more!

As a dashboard user with admin rights, you will now find the customer management as a sub-item of "Administration".

More movement on the screens with the new video support

The qnips digital sigange system now also supports videos!

With the next update of your digital signage app, in addition to the classic displays of the menu, you will have the choice between images and videos for the content display. Setting and uploading the videos is done as usual via the content management and digital signage control in the qnips dashboard.

New feature for room bookings and extended nutritional information

A new feature for room bookings will soon be added to the qnips ordering system. If the corresponding event permissions are activated in the dashboard, users will then have the option to book a room directly in addition to their pre-order. This simplifies the planning of conferences or meetings. Your guests can reserve a conference room with just a few clicks and pre-order snacks and drinks in the same booking.

Quickly edit images in the CP with the product photography feature

Special permissions can now be granted for certain users to edit product images in the app and Catering Portal. If you have activated the image license in the dashboard, this update gives you the option to provide users with product photography permissions. To do this, store the email addresses of the authorized persons in the dashboard in the corresponding menu plan in the "App settings" tab. They can then upload, replace or remove product images directly in the menu of the app or the catering portal.

Pick-up via QR code & payment via accounting unit

A new update has been implemented to the ordering feature in the Catering Portal. For pickup pre-orders at the company restaurant placed through the Catering Portal, a QR code (in addition to the order number) can be viewed in the order history of the respective user. In this way, the pickup process runs smoothly by scanning the QR code in the company restaurant. In addition, the option of payment by accounting unit can also be activated within the payment process.

More content for product detail pages & nutritional information

You will soon have the possibility to publish more content on your product detail pages and thus reach your customers even more specifically with relevant information. To do this, simply go to the respective product in the master data management in the dashboard and add more content under the tab "Identification & Additives". 

For more information, please contact us! 


In addition, we have expanded the nutritional information in the assortment management. You now have the option to provide additional information for products regarding vitamins, fiber, calcium, magnesium, iron and many more. All newly added nutritional information can be specified in units per 100gr.
